Our aim at Falkland Veterinary Clinic is to provide the best possible care for our patients and their owners. We achieve this through the skill and dedication of our team of vets, nurses and receptionists.
A friendly, welcoming and approachable group of staff has always been a major feature of the practice. Carl Gorman has been with the practice since he established it, and several of our vets and staff have been with us over 20 years, so we are a long standing part of the Newbury community. In March 2018 our practice achieved an outstanding award from the RCVS for client service, showcasing our excellence in providing high levels of care to our clients.
We moved to our current spacious premises with a large car park and easy access in 2007.
Although we have the facilities available to help us provide the best possible service, our greatest strength is our staff. An experienced team of veterinary surgeons is supported by a dedicated group of qualified veterinary nurses, trainee nurses, receptionists and ancillary staff.
As a recognised veterinary nurse training centre, we ensure that our trainees receive the highest levels of practical and theoretical instruction. We pride ourselves on our high standards of patient care. We are a partner practice for Surrey University, training vet students in their final year of study.
Our veterinary surgeons have a wide range of interests and expertise, in disciplines such as internal medicine, cardiology, orthopaedics, acupuncture, dermatology, soft tissue surgery, cancer care and exotics. Most investigations and treatment can be performed on site, although we have close links to nearby referral centres if patients require specialist care.
Facilities include digital X-rays (including dental), ultrasound, endoscopy, surgical and therapeutic laser. We have a hydrotherapy unit on site, run by Aquatic Canine Therapy (ACT), and through the centre have access to a physiotherapist. ACT were recognised with the Outstanding Centre of the Year award for 2017 from the Canine Hydrotherapy Association.
We also have a boarding cattery on site, operating 365 days a year.
As a practice we try to evolve and new advances in medicine, surgery and preventative healthcare are always offered as we attempt to provide gold standard treatment. Our Healthy Pet Club is a great way to spread the cost of your pet’s routine healthcare, as well as offering lots of benefits and discounts too.
